Have you ever been peer pressured to do something you didn't want to do? This blog I have decided to talk about, how not to give into peer pressure.

There will come a time in everyone’s life when your friends are going to want you to do something you have never done before.

You don’t want to look like a chicken in front of your friends so you think it will be okay to do it just this once. WRONG! That ‘one time’ can change you forever.

You never want to do something you would be to embarrassed to tell your parents. How would you like to tell your parents “I smoked weed today” or “I got drunk and had sex.”

“Making decisions on your own is hard enough, but when other people get involved and try to pressure you one way or another it can be even harder” says kids health.

The quote is very true, growing up is already hard enough, so why should we have to have other people telling us we should try stuff that could harm our body?

One thing you always need to keep in mind; is the word NO! That one word can help you stay alive and healthy.

What do you do if your friends keep bugging you about trying a cigarette/alcohol/sex/drugs? Just say no and find new friends who won’t pressure you to do stuff you don’t want to do.

What do you do if you’re a party with drugs and all stuff that’s not safe? CALL YOUR PARENTS! I’m 100% sure they would rather come pick you up, then you getting in a car and could end up in the hospital.

Thanks for reading and please let me know any other topic. If you have one let me know personally or comment on any blog. Thanks!

The First Amendment Controversy.

Picture of the first amendment available at http://www.newyorkpersonalinjuryattorneyblog.com/uploaded_images/first-amendment-719591.jpg on May 16, 2012

What do you think about the first amendment controversy going on? In this blog i’m going talk about the two sides and how each of them feel.

The first amendment controversy is basically about whether same sex can get married or not. If you are for the first amendment you believe they shouldn’t be able to get married. If you are against it, you believe they have every right to be married.

For the people who are for the first amendment; you have the right to believe what you want to believe. God created Adam and Eve, one male and one female. It is clear many people don’t want same sex marriage to occur. About 61% of the people are for amendment one.

If you are against amendment one; you also have to right to believe what you want to believe. About 38% of the people believe it is wrong to pass this amendment. People has the right to be happy; so why take that away from them?

What if you don't know what side you are on? Then you are neutral. You believe it doesn't matter what the people want to do with there life. Both sides want the same thing: to be right. They both want to win just so they can say they are right.
As of today the amendment one was passed. Now no one of the same sex can get married. I believe it is wrong to pass the amendment. People has the right to be happy, and no one has the right to take that from them.

What do you do if you are against the first amendment? Honestly I can not give you very much advice on that. All I could find was that all you can do if you really want to make a change is go to the white house and protest. Many people has already done that. You can also write letters and emails to the president and see what happens.

Sorry this blog wasn’t much of advice and i’m sure everyone has different opinions on this topic. So please just comment and let me know what you think and also give me more topics to talk about please! Thanks bloggers!!

Fighting with Parents

Video about fighting with parents. Available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3BBkrG55AE on May 10th 2012

Have you and your parents been getting along here lately? Or has there ever been a time you just couldn't stand they anymore? In this blog i’m going to help you know how to deal with your anger towards your parents. I also interviewed Emily Meeks to help you know how its like by another person's point of view.

Fighting with your parents is never okay, I know sometimes it’s hard not to argue with them but you need to learn to stand your grounds. Here is my interview:

Q:Have you ever fought with your parents?
A:”Yes”

Q:How often do you and your parents get into arguments?
A:”A lot”

Q:What’s the worst time you can remember you and them get into a fight?
A:”When they wouldn’t let me switch schools”

Q:Who do you fight more with: Mom or Dad?
A:”Mom”

Q:Why do you fight with your parents?
A:”They make me mad”

Q:Do you regret fight with them?
A:”No”

Q:If you could stop fight with them, would you?
A:”Yeah”

Q:Has the fights ever got so bad you actually hit them?
A:”No”

Q:If you could say something to them right now about the fights, what would you say?
A:”I’m sorry for arguing with you.”

Q:Are you going to keep fighting with them? Why or why not?
A:”Probably because they make me mad.”

As you can see it’s not good to fight with your parents! If you are arguing with them, stop. You never want your last words to your parents to be “I hate you.” You never know when you could lose them.

They are the ones who gave birth to you, so why fight with them? Think about that next time before a fight occurs.

Cheaters!

Cheating Picture Available at http://images.paraorkut.com/img/funnypics/images/c/cheater-13293.jpg on May 04, 2012

What to do when you find out someone is cheating on you? Read this blog and you will find out! :)

First off it is VERY wrong to cheat on someone. If you don’t want to be with the person you are with just break up with them for the person you plan on cheating on them with. Why would you want to hurt someone you like just to have a little fun? There is no point in it!

Some of you who are reading this may even decide to cheat on someone you are with sometime in life. Just know it’s not worth it. Trust me, I hate to say it, but I have even cheated on someone before and I regret it. Also I was cheated on; it doesn’t feel good at all when you find out the truth.

What would I consider cheating? Anything romantically, physically, and emotionally, you should be only doing with your partner.

If you ever find out someone is cheating on you, confront them. Don’t let anyone run you over! You do not deserve to be cheated on, no one does.
-First get proof
-Talk to your partner
-Catch them in the act
- Put a stop to it

Do you know the saying; once a cheater, always a cheater? That may be true but also it could be incorrect. If you are wanting to be with someone who has a history of cheating on someone, don’t freak out just keep a good eye on them.

What do you do if you know someone is cheating on the person they are with? Tell them! If they find out you knew and didn’t tell them they will get very upset/anger at you. Yeah, the person you told on will probably get upset you told them, but try to tell them not to let the cheater know it was you who told.

If you would like me to talk about a topic I have not already talked about or go into more details about a topic, please just comment on any blog to let me know. Thanks bloggers! :)

How to Have Fun at Prom

Prom picture available at http://www.outerinner.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/prom-group.jpg on April 27,2012
Hey Bloggers! Today i’m going to write about what’s on everyone’s mind right about now: Prom! Here is what’s everyone is looking for right about now:
-The perfect dress/tux
-The best shoes to wear
-The most gorgeous hairstyle
-And of course, the right person to be by their side the whole time

Everyone knows your prom night is supposed to be special and magical. Some people wait to go just their senior year, and some try to go every year in high school just to have fun with friends. Even according to Prom Girl.com:

"Ten, twenty, or maybe even thirty years from now you'll want to sit back and reminisce about the "good old days."  One memory you'll probably want to relive is that of your prom.  There are many ways to help you immortalize one of the most special nights of your life. "

But when you go to prom you want to be comfortable and have fun! So here is so tips:
-Don’t wear a super tight dress or tux because then you won’t be able to dance and have fun with your friends. You don’t want to be just sitting there all awkward.
-If you can’t barely walk in your shoes; don’t wear them. Just wear something that's cute and easy to walk/dance in.
-Don’t care about what everyone thinks about you. It’s your prom, so who cares if you can’t dance? Neither can half the people on the dance floor so don’t let that ruin your night. So get up and have some fun!
-You do not have to have a date to prom. A lot of people go with a group of friends and still have an amazing night! So if you don’t have a date; don’t let that stop you from going! Just get some of your friends to go with you and have an awesome night!

When you go to prom your parents are trusting you not to go do something stupid. If you will be too embarrassed to tell your parents what you did; you shouldn’t do it.

A lot of people who go to prom like to go to an after party. I’m in highschool and I know a lot of the stuff that does happen at the after party or just the night of prom. Just know that if you feel pressured to do anything you don’t want to do just tell them no or walk away. You don’t want to end up regretting anything about your special night.

Are you being Bullied?

Stop Bullying avaible at http://images.sodahead.com/polls/002285903/4629475108_NoBullies_xlarge.jpeg on April 23, 2012

Bullying is a huge topic in the world right now. Many young kids and teenagers are being bullied by other classmates and peers.

People would define bullying as many different things but according to Bully Free.com they state :

"Bullying is a form of aggressive behavior that is intentional, hurtful, (physical and psychological), and/or threatening and persistent (repeated). There is an imbalance of strength (power and dominance). "

There is a law out stating that if a teacher sees a student getting bullied they must report it. Anyone who is caught bullying and hurting someone will be put in jail/juvenile. Here are two stories about teenagers being bullied.

On April 18 2012, a ten year old boy from Ohio brought a toy bb gun to school to scare off his bullies. He has been bullied for a few years because, he has to wear braces on his ankles and because of how small he is. About a year ago a few kids older then him put him in the trash can. By the end of the school day the young boy had shown the gun to six other classmates and even threatened to shoot it.

Over the weekend, a fourteen year old Kenneth committed suicide because he was bullied about being gay. About a month before he was very popular and had a lot of friends.  But when he posted on facebook that he was gay everyone started turning on him and bullied him. They even made an anti-gay website and added all of his friends. A week before he took his life, he started getting threatening phone calls but when his mother tried to ask what was wrong he would cover his pain with a smile and tell her everything was okay.

So here is some tips for being bullied:

How to Save a Life!

Suicide picture at http://www.flickr.com/photos/76261353@N00/5844915 on April 17, 2012

Suicide is a very serious topic, about one million people die each year from committing suicide. In this blog i’m going to give you tips on how to help someone who is thinking about suicide and how to tell if someone is thinking about suicide.

According to helpguide.org “Most people who commit suicide don't want to die—they just want to stop hurting.” People think if they die all the pain will go away. This is physically true but mentally wrong. When you commit suicide you are leaving your friends and family who deeply love and care about you.

People who wants to commit suicide feel that there is no way of relief so they decide to take their own life. Many people want to find another way out but they can’t find one, so they believe death is the only way.

How can you tell if someone is thinking about suicide? Here are some warning signs:

Talking about suicide
Any talk about suicide, dying, or self-harm, such as "I wish I hadn't been born," "If I see you again...," and "I'd be better off dead."
Seeking out lethal means
Seeking access to guns, pills, knives, or other objects that could be used in a suicide attempt.
Preoccupation with death
Unusual focus on death, dying, or violence. Writing poems or stories about death.
No hope for the future
Feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, and being trapped ("There's no way out"). Belief that things will never get better or change.
Self-loathing, self-hatred
Feelings of worthlessness, guilt, shame, and self-hatred. Feeling like a burden ("Everyone would be better off without me").
Getting affairs in order
Making out a will. Giving away prized possessions. Making arrangements for family members.
Saying goodbye
Unusual or unexpected visits or calls to family and friends. Saying goodbye to people as if they won't be seen again.
Withdrawing from others
Withdrawing from friends and family. Increasing social isolation. Desire to be left alone.
Self-destructive behavior
Increased alcohol or drug use, reckless driving, unsafe sex. Taking unnecessary risks as if they have a "death wish."
Sudden sense of calm
A sudden sense of calm and happiness after being extremely depressed can mean that the person has made a decision to commit suicide.

If you are worried someone is having thoughts about suicide you should follow these tips to help them.
1-Just talk to the person, let them know you are concerned about them.
2-If someone tells you they are wanting to commit suicide you should ask them the following questions: How do you plan on do it? What would you need to carry out your plan? Do you know when you plan on doing it? Are you even sure you're going to go through with it?
Then follow the chart below to tell how close they are to suicide.

Low — Some suicidal thoughts. No suicide plan. Says he or she won't commit suicide.
Moderate — Suicidal thoughts. Vague plan that isn't very lethal. Says he or she won't commit suicide.
High — Suicidal thoughts. Specific plan that is highly lethal. Says he or she won't commit suicide.
Severe — Suicidal thoughts. Specific plan that is highly lethal. Says he or she will commit suicide.

3- Offer them help and let them know you are there for them.
4- Let an adult know the situation to get help as soon as possible.

People commit suicide for many different reasons. For example they might have just lost a family member or they are depressed and lonely, so they feel this is the other way. But you can help save their life if you follow these tips.
